PUSHING DAISIES: "Pickle" - PAGE 6

Things not looking so good for Pushing Daisies.

  • INT. THE PIE HOLE - DAY
  • EMERSON reads the paper across from NED as CHUCK slides in beside him.
  • EMERSON
  • That’s the fifth time.
  • Emerson puts the paper down on the table.
  • CHUCK
  • Fifth time for what?
  • NED
  • Fifth murder victim found.
  • Ned taps the headline, which reads "Fifth Murder Victim Found," over a photo of said victim.
  • CHUCK
  • (asking Ned)
  • How many until you’re a serial killer?
  • NED
  • I’m not a serial killer.
  • CHUCK
  • You in the not-you sense.
  • EMERSON
  • You’re kind of a serial killer.
  • NED
  • I’m a serial lifer.
  • EMERSON
  • Followed one minute later by unlifing. A series of them, one might say.
  • NED
  • One might not say.
  • CHUCK
  • I for one.
  • NED
  • She for one.
  • CHUCK
  • I don’t say.
  • EMERSON
  • You don’t say? Seems to me you do a lot of saying. You know who else doesn’t say?
  • Ned and Chuck look at other and back at Emerson. Shrug. Emerson taps the newspaper, on the picture of the fifth victim.
  • EMERSON
  • Number five. But I’ve got a hunch we can get him to say.
