PHILO GOES TO NEW YORK
The Farnsworth Invention, according to Playbill, is headed to Broadway. I see this as a necessary step toward there being a movie and finally resulting in the ultimate goal of there being a DVD that I can watch ad nauseum and set upon my bookshelf alongside all the other Sorkin stuff that I have watched repeatedly and the one that...not so much (Malice).
According the article, some parts have been offered to the originating cast from the workshop version at La Jolla Playhouse. All I can say is I hope Jimmi Simpson was offered to continue as Philo and that he accepts. As I said in my post after I saw play on the last day of its run, he owned that role.
I may have to consider a short cross-country jaunt to see the big city version.
