INSIDE THE LUCAS MUSEUM OF NARRATIVE ART

The eighth issue of Comics! The Magazine, features my interview with Ryan Linkof, Senior Curator at the newly opened Lucas Museum of Narrative Art in Los Angeles. Check it out to get an insight into the nature and collection of the Lucas and the whys and hows of what it is.

The Lucas is like no other Museum. It's focus on storytelling means a focus on art that is frequently overlooked (intentionally or unintentionally) by other art institutions. 

In its galleries, you'll find the great illustrators, like Norman Rockwell, Maxfield Parrish and N.C Wyeth, but more than that you'll also find the great fantasy artists - Frank Frazetta, Jeffrey Catherine Jones, and Sanjulián for instance. There are also galleries dedicated to manga and comics, with the icons of each included. 

Oh, and there's Star Wars stuff. After all, the Lucas in question is George.
